“we should start a movement from reserve to reserve” Desmond Merasty

Sandy Bay in Motion is a fresh, intimate look at the struggles and joys for youth in this isolated northern Saskatchewan First Nations community. This film was created over six days through a collaborative process with over 30 children, youth, adults and Culture Synk Artist Collective. Part documentary, part music video, with rap verses, poems and spoken word written by the youth, Sandy Bay in Motion explores the question “what is there to do for youth in Sandy Bay?”

*Culture Synk: Ramses Calderon (composer), Michele Sereda (performance artist), Ann Verrall (Filmmaker) and Gabriel Yahyahkeekoot (video artist)
